Kim Kardashian on the cover of “Sports Illustrated”

"Yep, it's true, Kim Kardashian is our cover model this year." The makers of the world-famous "Swimsuit" issue of "Sports Illustrated" magazine revealed this on Twitter on Monday. For Kardashian, it is a great honor to have been chosen for the cover of the bikini issue. She "would never have dreamed of it in a million years". Elon Musk's mother Maye Musk, singer Ciara and curvy model Yumi Nu also posed for the issue.

Kardashian has appeared on countless magazine covers and has caused quite a stir on the internet throughout her career. Now the 41-year-old, who produces swimwear herself with her underwear brand Skims, can be seen for the first time as a model in the bikini edition of "Sports Illustrated".

"Iconic"
Kardashian posed for the cover in a golden two-piece. "Every girl is obsessed with the 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit' issues. They're iconic," Kardashian enthuses about the shoot. For MJ Day, the magazine's editor-in-chief, Kardashian embodies a woman "who is no stranger to the judgment of the world" and who "apologizes for nothing". 

"Inspiration"
Model Maye Musk, the mother of Tesla boss Elon Musk, probably also falls into this category. The 74-year-old also posed in swimwear for the magazine.

She "works every day to inspire those around her", explained the editor-in-chief.

Singer Ciara can be admired in a swimsuit with a cowboy hat. She is simply a "superpower" in the music business. A fourth cover features Japanese-Dutch musician and plus-size influencer Yumi Nu. 

The swimwear issue "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit" is published every year in May and causes a lot of excitement among readers who like to see celebrities in bikinis. Heidi Klum and pop star Beyoncé, among others, have already posed on the cover.
