Girlfriend locked up and abused for hours

On Sunday morning, a drunk 27-year-old Carinthian from the Wolfsberg district locked up his 30-year-old girlfriend, threatened her and injured her. The motive was probably jealousy.

The 27-year-old came to his girlfriend's apartment in St. Andrä im Lavanttal (Wolfsberg district) at around 6.45 a.m. on Sunday after a night of drinking. As the woman did not immediately hear the doorbell ring, the 27-year-old accused her of being with another man

He then took the cell phone away from his girlfriend. He held the woman for several hours. During this time, he repeatedly threatened and beat the 30-year-old.

According to the police, the woman managed to get hold of her cell phone at midday, lock herself in the toilet and call for help. Police officers arrested the 27-year-old and banned him from entering and approaching her. Following an order from the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt, the 27-year-old was taken to Klagenfurt prison.
