Boulder thundered onto Millstätter Straße

Two boulders the size of half a cubic meter fell down the slope onto the road.

In the early hours of the morning, two boulders came loose in the area of the B98 Millstätterstraße - "in der Klamm" between Afritz and Einöde, which came to rest in the middle of the road. The road was reopened to traffic in the evening.

According to initial information, the reasons were frost and thaw. A geologist was on site to examine the area. The demolition site could be investigated - major danger was ruled out.

"The safety measures were completed at 17:45 and the closure was lifted again at 18:00. The B98 can be driven on in one lane with traffic lights until further notice," the police announced on Wednesday evening.
