O’zockt is: Why a quarter of a duck costs 31 euros
At the end of September, it's "O'zapft is" again in Munich. Around six million visitors don't miss out on the fun over the three weeks, including up to 500,000 Austrians. And this is despite the fact that prices for beer, food and rides have reached record levels again this year. We took a look at the Wiesn madness: Here are probably the most expensive and (comparatively) cheapest delicacies and why prices are rising so much.
Visitors knew that the Oktoberfest in 2023 would not be cheap fun with beer prices between 13.60 and 14.90 euros. A couple paid 173 euros for two half ducks and three mugs of beer in a marquee, for which you spend an average of around 60 to 70 euros in total in a Bavarian restaurant. In 2023, the price of beer alone rose by an average of 6.12 percent. Our tip for this year: Take even more money with you!
