The city is running out of time at Gswb

The Salzburg city government peppered the designated Gswb boss Ferdinand Hochleitner with questions at Mirabell Palace on Wednesday.

The meeting with the designated head of Gswb has not yet resulted in a decision on his future. A smooth start for Hochleitner at the beginning of October is becoming increasingly unrealistic.

The meeting at Mirabell Palace lasted around an hour. The designated head of Gswb, Ferdinand Hochleitner, had to answer questions from the city government after the "Krone" newspaper reported on inconsistencies from Hochleitner's time as managing director of OÖ Wohnbau. The housing manager has not yet been able to completely convince the city government.

The city leaders still need time to think about how to proceed in the matter. 

It is already clear that everything will be very tight. Hochleitner is due to take up his post as head of Gswb at the beginning of October. Before that, however, a decision by the city senate is absolutely necessary; the last date in September would be next Monday. However, the parties have now agreed a period of reflection. "I don't see a problem with that, we can convene a city senate at any time," says Mayor Bernhard Auinger (SPÖ).

Hochleitner was apparently able to convince the mayor, at least in part. "Professionally, I trust him to do it," says Auinger. His deputy Kay-Michael Dankl (KPÖ Plus) is even less convinced. "Dealing with staff will be the crux of the matter. The question is how a new start can be made at Gswb," he says. Matthias Nagl
