Hinteregger pushes a fan over – and is reported!

An unpleasant incident occurred shortly before the final whistle at the lower league soccer match between ASKÖ Mittlern and Sirnitz in Carinthia. Visiting coach and former Austrian soccer star Martin Hinteregger knocked over a fan - according to the home club and video footage sent to them. The latter has now filed a complaint for assault.

Ex-football star Martin Hinteregger apparently allowed himself to be tempted into an unpleasant scene during the lower league match between ASKÖ Mittlern and his Sirnitz team (4:3). The visitors' coach approached a fan (directly after Mittlern's late 4:3 goal) - according to eyewitnesses including video - and then pushed him over with both hands. 

ASKÖ Mittlern have already commented on the incident: "The fan has already reported Martin Hinteregger to the police for assault, has already been to the doctor and suspects a concussion. We will also report the incident to the Carinthian Football Association! A coach is not supposed to do something like that, regardless of whether his name is Hinteregger or whatever!"

The head of the Carinthian Football Association's penalty committee, Klaus Haslinglehner, emphasized: "I know the video and it is currently the most objective evidence of all. We will discuss the incident at the STRAFA meeting on Wednesday." The penalty for such offenses could be between two and seven games of suspension.

The former ÖFB star himself did not want to comment on the matter.
