Roller field hockey team wins the title at the World Championships!

The Austrian national roller field hockey team won the title in the Championship Cup at the World Championships in Novara, Italy. With a commanding 7:3 win against Uruguay.

The Austrian national team made a big impression at the roller field hockey world championship in Novara, Italy. In the Challenger Championship, the third-ranked competition at the World Championships, the red-white-red team took the title with a flawless performance.

The team coached by RHC Dornbirn coach Francesco Dolce won all of their group games - 9:0 against South Africa, 34:0 (!) against China, 8:6 against the Netherlands and 10:3 against India.

In the final, captain Aurel Zehrer met Uruguay and defeated the South Americans 7:3 to win the title. Zehrer, Kilian Hagspiel and Kilian Laritz each scored twice, as did Carlos Levay-Theurer.

The national team thus also earned a quota place for the Intercontinental Championship. 

"This World Championship title is a great success for Austrian roller field hockey, we've shown all week that we belong in the B World Championship," said head of delegation Thomas Haller, delighted with the historic success for Team Austria, "the team has done a great job, now the celebrations can begin."
