Horrific crash with drunk driver – woman (52) injured

A terrible traffic accident on Wientalstraße in Vienna-Penzing on Saturday night: a drunk driver (40) crashed his car into the rear of a 52-year-old woman's car. The woman's car skidded and finally collided with a concrete wall. 

The woman's car skidded as a result of the collision, collided with a traffic sign and finally with the concrete barrier at around 10 pm. The 52-year-old woman was injured and taken to hospital by the emergency services. Considerable material damage was caused to the vehicles, reported the regional police headquarters.

Without a driver's license and intoxicated
The professional fire department removed the accident vehicles from the scene of the accident using a fire department tow truck. The traffic accident command took over the further investigation into the course of the accident. The Austrian driver did not have a driver's license and a breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of just over one per mille.

 He was reported to the Vienna public prosecutor's office on suspicion of negligent bodily harm in road traffic. He was also charged with alcohol impairment and driving the car without the required driving license.
