Narcissists are fascinating people-catchers. It's easy to fall in love with such a dazzling personality. But: one moment you're smitten, the next second everything is different: instead of sweet words, there's complete verbal annihilation. Separation? Out of the question for a narcissist! Falling in love is not an option here!

They are the sirens among partners, even if - at present - more men than women are narcissistic personalities. They dazzle you with their beautiful mask, seem to be the brightest star in the night sky and attract others like moths to a flame. But: "It's all superficial and somewhat fleeting," says psychotherapist Barbara Haid, President of the Austrian Federal Association for Psychotherapy (ÖBVP).
