Martin Sellner arrested at the Swiss border

Martin Sellner wanted to give a lecture in Switzerland, but he was arrested due to an entry ban and deported shortly afterwards.

Despite an entry ban, far-right activist Martin Sellner attempted to enter Switzerland on Saturday. The former leader of the Identitarian movement was stopped by the police as he attempted to cross the border.

The action was of course not surprising and probably provoked, as Sellner documented everything and published several updates on his arrest and subsequent deportation on his X profile (formerly Twitter). 

The police in the canton of Thurgau confirmed that a 35-year-old person had been stopped and taken away for further investigation. At the police station, she was "told that she was banned from entering Switzerland", a police spokesperson said on request. Sellner was then escorted to the Swiss border and left Switzerland again. The police spokesman would not say where the border crossing took place.

The authorities had been aware of a planned event by the right-wing extremist Swiss group "Junge Tat" with Sellner in the Constance-Kreuzlingen area and had been prepared accordingly.

After the official action by the Swiss police, Sellner posted a video on board a ferry that took him back to Germany on Lake Constance. The 35-year-old is also banned from entering Germany. However, its implementation was initially postponed following his court appeal.

The Viennese recently visited several German cities to read from his book "Remigration". When right-wing extremists use the term "remigration", they usually mean that a large number of people of foreign origin should leave the country - even under duress.
