AS Monaco have temporarily shot themselves to the top of the Champions League with a win! Coach Adi Hütter's team won 5:1 against Red Star Belgrade in the principality and now have seven points after three rounds. Top Italian club AC Milan defeated Club Brugge, who had to play short-handed for a long time, 3:1. It was the Milan team's first win of the season in the top flight after two defeats.

Ex-Salzburg player Takumi Minamino gave Monaco the lead (20'), but Red Star quickly equalized. Thilo Kehrer fouled Cherif Ndiaye in the penalty area during a Belgrade counter-attack and the fouled player converted the penalty to make it 1-1 (27').

Minamino made the difference with his second goal
Breel Embolo put the hosts back in front shortly before the half-time whistle (45.+4). Wilfried Singo increased the lead after the break with a superb shot from distance (54'). Minamino made the difference with his second goal (70') and Maghne's Akliouche added another for Hütter's side (97').

Milan struggle against ten Belgians
At the Stadio San Siro, Christian Pulisic converted a corner to give Milan the lead (34'). It got even worse for Brugge, as Raphael Onyedika was shown red for a serious foul on Tijjani Reijnders after VAR intervention (40'). Despite being outnumbered, the Belgians still managed to draw 1-1 through Kyriani Sabbe (51').

Reijnders then scored twice (61st, 71st) to secure three points for the Rossoneri, for whom 16-year-old Francesco Camarda became the youngest Italian to make his CL debut. A header from Camarda in the closing stages was disallowed by VAR, a narrow offside call preventing the completion of a footballing fairytale (88').
