Teenager (16) stabbed by man in Vienna

After a brawl between several teenagers ended with a stabbing in a park in Meidling on Sunday, there was another attack in Vienna's 12th district on Monday. This time a 16-year-old was stabbed by a man (40). 

It was Monday evening when the police were called to a courtyard of an apartment building. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, they saw a man in the process of pinning another man to the ground. The man had a knife with him. 

Stabbed during an argument
A 16-year-old youth was also present with bloody clothing and injuries to his legs. After the situation was de-escalated by the officers, it emerged that there had been an argument between the three people involved. The 40-year-old is said to have pulled out a knife and stabbed the 16-year-old with it.

The 52-year-old witness then allegedly overpowered the suspect. The 40-year-old was immediately arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The murder weapon was seized.

Victim's life not in danger
The victim received initial emergency medical care from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was taken to hospital. There is no danger to life. The suspect is being held by the police.

There had been a knife attack in Meidling on Sunday evening. According to the police, there was first a scuffle, then a 17-year-old was injured with a knife.
