“Listless star” of all people causes Sturm frustration

Donyell Malen, of all people, was the match-winner for Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening. With his late 1:0, the striker, who has been counted out due to his poor performances at the German top club, caused frustration at Sturm. The team from Graz (voices in the video above) are once again empty-handed.

"Listless star shoots BVB to victory", headlines "Bild" in bold letters. The success of black and yellow against black and white may have been deserved. In the end, however, it was Emanuel Aiwu's capital misplaced pass in the 85th minute that gave Donyell Malen the winning goal.

The fact that assist provider Serhou Guirassy was not offside by millimeters made Graz's misfortune perfect. "Late redemption!" wrote the German newspaper "Bild" about Malen's goal.

After the final whistle, Nuri Sahin also breathed a sigh of relief on the touchline and revealed that he had not been at all satisfied with Malen's performance in the recent past, despite having to sit on the bench until the 67th minute. "We had a very, very good conversation a few days ago," said the Dortmund coach.

No farewell after all?
Most recently, it was even said that the 25-year-old had already more or less finished with BVB and was desperate to leave a few months ago. A move seemed only a matter of time.
