A 54-year-old woman is said to have damaged a window at Vienna's Brunnenmarkt out of anger over a rejected job application for her boyfriend, knocked over a cabbage barrel and threatened the stall operator and his family with death. The woman had an alcohol level of 2.14 per mille.

When the Vienna police were alerted to the incident, they were able to stop the woman in a nearby supermarket in Vienna-Ottakring. The woman is said to have displayed aggressive behavior and attacked the officers with punches and kicks when they demanded an identity card.

The woman was subsequently arrested and the police recorded a blood alcohol level of 2.14 per mille. Two officers were also slightly injured in the attack.

No memory of the death threat
During questioning, the rioter did not confess and could not remember the threat. In her opinion, the stall operator had started the argument with her and then attacked her. The reason for this was the operator's unwillingness to hire her boyfriend.

By order of the Vienna public prosecutor's office, the 54-year-old was released.
