Derby fever runs rampant in the Ländle at the weekend

Derbies are the absolute highlights of the season in almost all team sports. Vorarlberg sports fans can look forward to four (!) of these highlights this coming weekend. What's more, in four different sports and at different starting times, making it possible to attend all four derbies.

The volleyball second division girls will kick things off on Saturday afternoon. At 1.30 pm, VC Dornbirn welcomes VBC Höchst to Messehalle 1. While the hosts have only managed one win in eight games so far, the girls from Höchst have already won four of their six games.

Emser cracks challenge indomitable Lustenau team
The action continues at 17:30 with an ice hockey derby. In the Austrian Ice Hockey League (ÖEL), SC Hohenems will welcome EHC Lustenau, who are still unbeaten after seven rounds, to the Emser Eisstadion. The Stickers won the first showdown of the current season on October 26 by a clear 6:2.

Classic game in Bregenz
The big Vorarlberg HLA derby between record champions Bregenz and HC Hard awaits at 20:20 in the Rieden Vorkloster handball arena. While the visitors recently suffered a heavy home defeat against Ferlach, Bregenz missed out on a win at the Fivers, but were at least able to enjoy a point.

Battle for the number one spot in the Ländle
The fourth and final local clash will then take place on Sunday at 12.45 pm in the Altach Cashpoint Arena, when the hosts host SPG Lustenau/Dornbirn in the Admiral Women's Bundesliga. Both teams are currently on 13 points in the table and the visitors want to finally secure their first ever derby win.
