15-year-old shoots three-part documentary about landmark

Maximilian Hübner has shot three parts for a documentary about the Retz windmill - although nobody actually commissioned the 15-year-old to do this: "It's for the portfolio," says the Retz native and resident modestly. Both for his education at the media studies college, but above all for his new production company.

Retz is not only known for its striking windmill high above the rooftops, but also for the TV series "Judge Junlia". As the creative youngster still attends the HAK in Hollabrunn - specializing in media studies, of course - all shoots requiring special lighting conditions also had to be coordinated with school (free) time. Powerful spotlights and state-of-the-art technology - Hübner and his no less tech-savvy friends either already owned all of this themselves or borrowed it from the school and specialist companies.

The script was written quickly
Maximilian Hübner had an easy time writing the script: the "documentary maker" worked as a guide in the landmark of the Weinviertel town in the district of Hollabrunn for several years during his vacations.

"I was expecting a few hundred views on YouTube at the beginning," says Hübner. He never dared to dream that the number of clicks would skyrocket to more than 7,000 within less than a month. The 15-year-old's next plans: a short film and a web series.
