First Advent is heralded in Upper Austria

Whether it's the Christmas market in Bad Ischl and the Linz animal shelter or a concert by the Vienna Boys' Choir, the "Krone" knows what's going on.

It's that time again. Christmas is just around the corner. And the first weekend of Advent gets you in the mood for this contemplative time. From a Christmas concert by the Vienna Boys' Choir to model train and nativity scene exhibitions to markets with lots of customs and traditions, Upper Austria shows everything that makes it special. Charity events are also a must.

The 48th Garstner Advent opens. Since 1977, churchgoers, monks, farmers, craftsmen and traveling vendors have met on the square in front of the monastery. There are plenty of customs to marvel at, including the art and nail forge.Date: 30. 11., 1., 7. & 8. 12., 10-19 h Infolink: garstner-advent.at

The anticipation of Christmas is growing in romantic Traun Castle. The traditional market leaves nothing to be desired.
