The "Krone" celebrates

Half a century full of stories

"I would never have expected the two of us to meet. I'm extremely happy right now!" blurted out pop star DJ Ötzi. Festival director Markus Hinterhäuser was also among the 200 or so guests at the big "Krone" anniversary gala at Gut Aiderbichl on Thursday evening. 

Not even so inconspicuously. He couldn't stay in his chair for the Ötzi hit "Ein Stern" and swayed along with media manager Hans Mahr and editor-in-chief Claus Pándi.

Moments like these have characterized the "Salzburg Krone" for 50 years. So there was a good reason for the large "Krone" family to celebrate half a century with friends, partners and politicians at Gut Aiderbichl near Henndorf.

"Our job is to provide clarity, information and guidance, but above all to give our readers a voice," said Claus Pándi, Editor-in-Chief of the "Salzburg Krone", right at the beginning of his welcome speech. He was met with approval not only from the numerous "Krone" members in attendance, with publisher Christoph Dichand at the forefront.

The "Krone" heart people also earned the greatest respect. At first glance, they appear to be completely "normal" readers, but at second glance they are true everyday heroes. People who make society a little bit better. The editorial team received numerous submissions from readers. These included outstanding achievements ranging from nursing care to involvement in associations.

The following were selected from the numerous entries: Rudolf Willinger, Hannes Eder, Wolfgang Pöhl, Frigga Obermayer and Gertraud Scheichl. Whether in private care, refugee aid, food distribution or club life - the fates that these people of the heart take care of on a daily basis visibly moved the audience in attendance.

Among others, the audience applauded thunderously: Minister Karoline Edtstadler, Salzburg's Governor Wilfried Haslauer, "Wings for Life" CEO Anita Gerhardter together with entrepreneur Daniel Bauchinger, Salzburg Festival President Kristina Hammer, Ober-Aiderbichler and host Dieter Ehrengruber, "Krone" managing director Gerhard Valeskini, "Krone" managing editor-in-chief and "Steirerkrone" boss Klaus Herrmann, ORF Salzburg regional director Waltraud Langer, ServusTV director Ferdinand Wegscheider and long-time "Salzburg Krone" editor-in-chief Hans Peter Hasenöhrl.
