In the footsteps of her successful dad

Antonia Weixelbraun faces a major challenge at the Amadeus Horse Indoors.

The daughter of show jumper Christian Juza, Antonia Weixelbraun, is about to make her debut at her home show at the Amadeus Horse Indoors. The 19-year-old still has big plans for her career.

Show jumper Christian Juza has achieved many successes in his career and is one of the best equestrian athletes in Salzburg. Now daughter Antonia, whose surname is Weixelbraun, is following in her father's footsteps and taking small steps into the professional arena. At the Amadeus Horse Indoors at the Salzburg Exhibition Center, she will compete in the CSI four-star tournament with the professionals for the first time. "I was delighted that they took me on," beams the 19-year-old, who was infected with the horse virus by her father while she was still a child: "He was also a show jumper, so I've always had something to do with horses right from the start."

The Nußdorfer now has five animals that are housed in Lamprechtshausen: Quintar the Homage Z, Countess Cornet F, Cashmere, Onikkie V and main horse Chaloubet. "I drive to the stables every day and am usually there for four hours," says Weixelbraun. It works out so well time-wise because she studies online. "It's practical for the tournaments and was already in the back of my mind that it should work out, because they often last from Tuesday to the weekend," says the finance management student.

She has already celebrated several sporting successes. Among other things, she took part in the 2019 European Junior Championships in the Netherlands and reached the final there, a few weeks ago she celebrated a double victory at a Grand Prix in Stadl-Paura and also this year she was runner-up in the Young Rider category. "One of my goals would be to ride for the Austrian team in the Young Riders next year and also go to the European Championships," says the show jumper, who is as ambitious as her father was as an active rider.
