Manchester City have once again dropped points in the English Premier League. At Crystal Palace, coached by Oliver Glasner, the champions were unable to overcome a 2-2 draw on Saturday after twice falling behind. 

City are now eight points behind Liverpool in fourth place in the table. The leaders took a break as the Merseyside derby against Everton was canceled due to safety concerns caused by a storm.

City were overwhelmingly superior at Selhurst Park, but trailed to goals from Daniel Munoz (4) and Maxence Lacroix (56). Erling Haaland (30) and Rico Lewis (68) both equalized. However, a harsh yellow card for Lewis (84) further hampered the efforts of Pep Guardiola's team. The Sky Blues have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions. Crystal Palace are currently 16th in the table.

"We are satisfied with the point and much of the performance," said Glasner after the clash with Guardiola's star ensemble. "It feels like we could have won the game if we had played at our best level." His team have only lost one of their last seven league games, four of which ended in draws. Glasner: "The result gives us confidence. We want to get better in certain situations, then we can also win games like this."

Next setback for Man United
Manchester United suffered their second defeat in a row with a 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest. As 13th in the table, the record champions have long since arrived in mediocrity. In Liverpool, hosts Everton announced a few hours before the scheduled kick-off that the derby could not take place. Two games in the English second division had already been called off on Friday due to the adverse weather conditions.
