Why a young kindergarten teacher changed jobs

Frustration and resignation as a constant companion: former nursery school teacher Claudia Toth from the industrial district in Lower Austria has found a new way to help children and parents. She spoke to the "Krone" newspaper about her motivations - and what she advises parents in her new role.

Kindergarten teachers in particular are currently desperately sought after. Despite advantages such as "safe and varied work", the industry has been struggling with major recruitment problems, especially since the pandemic. For Claudia Toth, herself a former nursery school teacher, there is an urgent need for a change in image: "The image of the teacher has changed. The younger generation is focusing on different values," says the mother of three.
