Thieves stole 51 times from a village store

Several thieves were tracked down by the police.

Four perpetrators, aged between 19 and 72, were active for months before the police were able to track them down. Two men who targeted more than just farm stores are also in custody.

Four unknown men had converted a small store in the St. Pölten district into a self-service store. Over a period of several months, the thieves repeatedly stole products and small amounts of cash until the owner got too fed up. He viewed countless video surveillance recordings and was finally able to identify four suspects.

Tips from the public
The men and women, aged between 19 and 72, had stolen at least 51 times at this point. They were identified not least thanks to tips from the public. Most of the suspects have confessed and want to make amends for the damage. They have nevertheless been reported to the police.

Bikes also taken
Two Czechs (26 and 27) were also caught, who had also stolen food and cash from stores in the districts of Mistelbach and Hollabrunn. But the duo went even further: they took six bicycles from garages around Christmas. However, they were observed in the process and caught shortly afterwards during a manhunt. They are now in custody in Korneuburg.
