Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reach settlement

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached an agreement in their divorce - a whopping eight years after Jolie filed to end their two-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences!

"More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for her family," Jolie's attorney James Simon announced in a statement to People.

Fight over children and shared property
"This is just one part of a long process that began eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved that this one part is over," said the lawyer about the years-long mud-slinging that Jolie and Pitt had engaged in. They fought over (wine) goods and, of course, their children. There was no longer any trace of love.

Pitt allegedly abused children
Jolie filed for dissolution of marriage on September 19, 2016 - a few days after a flight in a private plane on which she and her six children were abused by Pitt, according to her statements. Pitt was not charged following an investigation. Jolie declined to press charges.

"The parties and their attorneys have signed agreements to protect the privacy of their children and their family by keeping all court documents confidential and appointing a private judge to make all necessary legal decisions and facilitate the prompt resolution of any remaining issues," the statement reads, ending with the words: "The parents are committed to acting together to achieve restoration and reunification."
