Carnival cabaret

This power woman also has cabaret artists under control

She grew up in the small cultural town: Johanna Hainz (32) has been directing the Bleiburger Faschingskabarett (Carinthia) for five years. The new program premieres in just under two weeks.

Bleiburg is her family, home and cultural hotbed. "I grew up in the ranks of the cultural initiative, which encouraged me, shaped me and led my heart to acting," says Johnna Hainz. The 32-year-old from Bleiburg lives in Vienna, where she also graduated from the Elfriede Ott Acting Academy. Hainz has been working as a freelance actress for almost nine years: "The theater, the stage is my world, my passion."

She has been directing the Bleiburg summer and carnival cabaret for five years. "Michael Stöckl entrusted me with this honor, he thought a breath of fresh air was needed." Rehearsals have been going on for weeks, as the cabaret artists' premiere (January 15) is just around the corner. "The hot rehearsal phase began before Christmas, the tension is high and everyone has the freedom to develop their own performance on stage. Of course there are improvements, tips, suggestions and lots of motivation."

Everyone dances to her tune
But the director is nervous until the premiere: "Until then, as I say, it's all about stumbling through. Then there's the real spice called stage fright." Dad Philipp, who has been rhyming on stage for decades, also dances to his daughter's tune: "She's the professional, we trust her." What happens on stage this year will of course not be revealed.

In her private life, Johanna likes the Breznik brewery and Harry Potter books. After the premiere, the actress can be seen in "Mondmilch trinken, immer und jetzt" in Vienna and Salzburg.
