Man threatens bouncer with broken bottle

Despite repeated requests to stop his aggressive behavior, the rioter did not comply (symbolic image).

Three drunken men were apparently angry when they were refused entry to a bar on New Year's Eve. They also expressed their anger to the patrol officers at Vienna's Praterstern. The situation escalated when one of the men broke a glass bottle in anger and threatened the doorman of the bar.

While the male trio was still complaining to the officers, one of the men became increasingly irascible and aggressive. Suddenly, the 28-year-old left the group in the direction of the pub. The man picked up a glass bottle lying on the floor, broke it, walked towards the entrance of the pub and threatened the doorman there. 

Man did not stop his aggressive behavior 
The police repeatedly asked the man to stop his behavior and calm down, but he did not comply. The officers were then forced to use a Taser. The man was provisionally arrested as it was suspected that he wanted to seriously injure the pub security.

Drugs found on rioter
During a search, the police were able to seize a small quantity of drugs from him. The 28-year-old was then taken to hospital by the Vienna Professional Rescue Service to be medically examined and then taken into police custody. By order of the Vienna public prosecutor's office, he was transferred to a prison.
