Successful days for Lustenauer Austria

The traditional short training camp at the Hotel Hirschen in Schoppernau was on the agenda for the Green-Whites over the past few days. For Markus Mader and his team, the focus in the Bregenzerwald was on having fun, and the returning coach was pleased with the familiar routines. 

Last January, Austria Lustenau were still at a training camp in Turkey with warmer temperatures, this year the Green-Whites were once again looking for an optimal start to their spring preparation under typical Austrian conditions - sports director Stephan Muxel invited them to the already traditional short training camp at the Hotel Hirschen in Schoppernau.

It was also a reunion for coach Markus Mader, who returned during the winter break. "As always, these were very successful days for us, for discussions and team building," says Mader, "but it's also very important for us to present the club in the Bregenzerwald - we have a lot of fans there."

On the cross-country skiing and biathlon trails, relaxing in the whirlpool or sauna and during the sessions with athletics coach Lucas Vidal - fun was always at the forefront for the Austrian players.

"There are a lot of familiar processes for us, everything is perfectly organized," said Mader happily, "some of the players already knew it. But it was certainly exciting for the newcomers, some of them were in the snow for the first time. That gives you a bit of a reason to laugh," added the coach with a grin.
