Several traffic accidents in the morning hours

The police had to respond to several incidents at once.

The police and fire department had to respond to several accidents on Thursday morning. Two people were taken to hospital with indeterminate injuries.

Long before the sun rose in the wintry morning hours, the sirens were wailing in Klagenfurt at around 6 am. The fire and rescue services were called out to rescue a car that had overturned on its left side in Trettnigstraße.

Fire department lifted person out of overturned vehicle
"One person could be lifted through the window and was handed over to the emergency services. However, the person was not trapped," said Wolfgang Germ, press spokesman for the Klagenfurt professional fire department. The person involved in the accident was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Drunk at the wheel
There was also a crash on Rosentalerstraße at the Keutschacher Straße junction in the early morning. A 54-year-old man overlooked the car of a 35-year-old woman from Klagenfurt when turning into the direction of Viktring, which led to the collision. "A breathalyzer test carried out on the 35-year-old revealed a moderate level of alcoholization, which is why her driver's license was temporarily confiscated," said the police. Both cars sustained serious material damage. 

Three cars involved in an accident
A short time later, there was another accident involving three cars in Feldkirchner Straße on St. Veiter Ring. "Fortunately, no people were injured here either, but there was also damage to property," report the officials. 

Tractor collides with car
A 40-year-old man was driving his tractor on Flattnitzer Straße in the direction of Glödnitz when a 67-year-old man was driving his car on the same road at the same time. "For unknown reasons, the driver of the car collided with the tractor at high speed," said the police. The driver was rescued from the car by the Glödnitz fire department with undetermined injuries and taken to Friesach hospital by ambulance.
