Senior citizen’s ID card as loot: imprisonment after brutal robbery

Shock for an 80-year-old senior citizen in Innsbruck! The woman was brutally attacked and robbed by an initially unknown perpetrator during her evening walk. In addition to a cell phone, the criminal stole "only" a pensioner's ID card. The suspect was tracked down in the course of the investigation. He is now in custody.

The brutal act took place late on Tuesday evening. The woman was out for a walk near her home address at around 10 pm. She was suddenly attacked by a stranger.

"The perpetrator stole her cell phone, her senior citizen's ID card and her e-card from her handbag," say investigators. The brutal attacker was able to disappear. The shocked victim was left behind. A police manhunt was initially unsuccessful.

The suspect is a 39-year-old Moroccan. The suspect was clearly recognized by the victim as the perpetrator.

In the course of the subsequent investigations, however, a suspect was identified. "It is a 39-year-old Moroccan. The suspect was clearly recognized as the perpetrator by the victim," the investigators continued. In addition, the woman's cell phone was found and recovered from the suspected perpetrator.

However, there is no trace of the pensioner's ID card or the e-card. It is possible that the suspect threw the documents away. The 39-year-old has now been remanded in custody. He is being held in Innsbruck correctional facility.
