Teenager pushes boy in front of subway in Stuttgart

In Stuttgart, a teenager (13) allegedly pushed a twelve-year-old boy against an arriving subway train after an argument. The boy died as a result, as the public prosecutor's office and Stuttgart police announced on Friday.

The incident occurred at around 12.30 p.m. on Friday at the Max-Eyth-See light rail station. According to initial investigations, the twelve-year-old was allegedly pushed against the arriving U12 light rail train by a 13-year-old. He died as a result. "Unfortunately, the child had already died by the time the emergency services arrived," the fire department said.

The incident was probably preceded by an argument. It was not initially known whether other people were involved. It was also initially unclear what the argument was about and to what extent the two boys knew each other. The police were investigating whether they went to the same school class.

The 13-year-old was questioned by the police in the presence of his mother and then handed over to the youth welfare office. 13-year-olds are not of criminal age in Germany; as in Austria, the age of criminal responsibility begins at 14.

A crisis intervention team looked after the approximately 15 witnesses. The criminal investigation department asked them to come forward. They themselves secured evidence and took photos.

The fire department recovered the body, which was severely trapped between the light rail. The technical rescue was demanding and stressful for the firefighters, it was reported.
