The gold rush: how you can profit from it!
Energy and banking crises, high inflation and (trade) wars sometimes prompt investors to play it safe and bet on gold. At over 2900 dollars, the precious metal has just reached a record high. We show you how to participate in the gold rush and why caution is still advised.
Gold, the safe haven? At least the precious metal has repeatedly shown that it "benefits" from uncertain times and gains on the stock markets. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (early 2020) and Russia's launch of a war of aggression in Ukraine (early 2022) sent prices soaring to over 2,000 dollars per troy ounce. Following the bankruptcies of Silicon Valley Bank and the collapse of Credit Suisse in March 2023, the mark was shattered, as was the renewed escalation of the Middle East conflict following Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel on October 7 of the same year.
