The second training run for the women's Alpine Ski World Cup downhill in La Thuile has also been canceled. The original plan was to hold the mandatory training run for a race on Thursday, but a super-G has been removed from the program - but the weather gods won't allow it! 

Mother Holle is in high season in La Thuile - and is shaking up the program. After the first two downhill training sessions had to be canceled due to the weather, the plan was to add a training run tomorrow, which is absolutely necessary for a race in the supreme discipline, and to do so one of the two planned super-Gs was removed from the program. But because the weather forecast in the Aosta Valley is bad for Saturday, the organizers decided on plan C: no downhill training tomorrow, and therefore no downhill. Instead, two super-Gs are planned for Thursday and Friday!

Which guarantees a "grand finale" in terms of the downhill crystal. As the canceled La Thuile downhill will not be rescheduled due to scheduling reasons, there is only one race in the "supreme discipline" left on the program. And ahead of the last race at the World Cup final in Sun Valley (USA), defending champion Conny Hütter is only 16 points behind the Italian Federica Brignone. Which means that the Styrian has everything in her own hands - if she wins the final like last year, she would have the second globe of her career in her pocket.
